About BPIAI Leaders Forum:

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Business Process Industry Association of India (BPIAI) are jointly organising the "Business Process Industry Leaders Forum" on Tuesday 14 October 2008 at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi - 110 003.

The BPO Industry has been the toast of India's growing prowess on the global ICT stage, as well as a reminder of the potential, abilities and growth challenges that lies ahead. Having established itself as a brand that connotes quality and competitive price differentials, the Indian BPO sector has emerged as a dominant player and is poised to be the main beneficiary of this aggregation opportunity. Outsourcing in India has evolved from the early days of BPOs to modern-day IT and knowledge driven services that are positioned way up on the value chain. The annual survey on the performance of the Indian software & services sector for 2007-08 reported that the Indian IT BPO Industry (including the domestic market) recorded an overall growth of 28 percent. The Industry is set to touch $50 billion revenues, growing at 24%.

While much has been said about the immense opportunities opening up before India's BPO players, not much attention has been paid to the challenges facing the sector. Some of the changes happening outside and within the Indian BPO industry are rapid but subtle, and are likely to be overlooked. Sustaining this impressive growth are large unaddressed market potential and demonstrated leadership of Indian ITES - BPO that is reflected in the list of corporations sourcing an expanding range of services from India.

It is against this background that CII and BPIAI are organizing this "BPI Leaders Forum 2008: Towards shaping the future of Indian business process industry". The Forum will be an important platform to trigger for boardroom decision making, views of leading industry players on the rapidly evolving opportunities in global BPO challenges, providing participants a perfect occasion for networking and experience sharing. The event will see business and technology leaders from across the industry brainstorm on the existing BPO industry, its future outlook and strategies to keep it high growth, vibrant, robust, competitive and a catalyst of the global economy.

The participant profile include CEOs / CFOs / COOs from the industry, senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, foreign dignitaries and diplomatic community, press and media amongst others.

Participation at the Leaders Forum will be through invitation.
